Added lines 1-13:

'The Source' is Cool FM's flagship new Saturday night dance show which is broadcast from 6 pm to 9 pm every Saturday night.

The show features the Soulshakers, a listener's selection of his or her favourite three dance tracks. Listeners can enter suggest their own songs for the Soulshakers at The Source page on Cool FM's web site.

The show then features the Mixmaster Floor-fillers chart (formerly known just as the 'Floorfillers'). These are the best selling vinyl records from Mixmaster in Belfast. When The Source launched, this was just a selection of currently popular dance tracks by Pete Snodden.

Other regular features of the show include:

  • the gig guide, telling you what's going on in 'clubland'.
  • Pete's Record of the Week. It seems to be a running joke that every week, Pete introduces the record with "I've been looking forward to playing this all night!"
  • the guest mix (usually the last half an hour or so). This can be either be a local Northern Irish DJ or an international, well-known artist such as Mylo.
  • interviews. These are either on the phone or live in the studio, again with local D Js or international stars.

The only time that The Source has substantially deviated from this format was for the special Christmas Day Old Skool edition.
